The Challenge
The challenge was to transform abstract concepts related to time into a coherent family of products capable of creating emotional and narrative connections with users while maintaining functional value.
My Role
I led the research, concept development, and product design process, translating themes from Mario García Torres' work into a cohesive family of objects. Through visual analysis, sketch exploration, and iterative prototyping, I developed the formal language, material direction, and narrative connections that link each piece to the concepts of memory, repetition, coincidence, and temporality explored throughout the collection.
Outcome
The final collection demonstrates how abstract artistic concepts can be translated into tangible design outcomes. Inverted Time was selected for exhibition at MARCO (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey), where it was presented alongside the work of artist Mario García Torres, and was later featured in the 14th edition of Dinn Journal.

INVERTED TIME
A collection of conceptual objects inspired by artist Mario García Torres and his reflections on memory, repetition, and temporal loops. The collection — a table, a lamp, and a mirror — uses mirrored forms, inverted silhouettes, and repeated structures to evoke the sensation of time folding back on itself. The mirror reads: "Tu reflejo es 10 nanosegundos más joven." Selected for exhibition at MARCO, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey, and featured in DinnJournal 14th edition.
